The Nebrodi Park ("nebr˛s", a Greek word for fawn) is easily reachable from Patti; it is an immense still
enough intact naturalistic, artistic, gastronomic and etno-anthropological patrimony.
Also Slowfood has created some situation for the protection of products like grape, olives, "provola", a typical cheese, and various meats among which the black swine's one, rich of unsaturated fat acids.
The Nebrodi Park is considered the "green lung" of Sicily, in any season is advisable to make excursions in the Park on foot or by horse, also to admire wide and spectacular landscapes of gulfs and beaches.
In the serene days it is possible to perceive the top of the Etna also from Patti, the most important
active volcano in Europe.
It is reachable by the highway Messina-Catania in about one hour, or (as we suggest) crossing the magnificent Nebrodi Park.
Once arrived, it's possible to make guided excursions to observe the volcano's craters as near as possible, since some of them are still active or of recent formation.
